About us

Swing isn’t only a dance, it’s a way of life! Sharing endearing moments and showing your real face during a dance. Those who dare to embrace this way of life know the uplifting effect. Swing Philosophy aims to share that with as many folks as possible!

“Had a great time! Wonderful teachers who really enjoy what they do. Open and friendly atmosphere and plenty of time to practice and ask questions!” *A review on our Facebook Page

BEHIND SWING PHILOSOPHY

Teodora Kasabova, a jolly overachiever in everything and that is no different when it comes to her dancing. She started dancing in 2017 and climbed up the dancing ladder rapidly by embracing all styles of swing dancing (Lindy Hop, Charleston, Blues, Collegiate Shag and Solo Jazz). She travels all over Europe following international workshops from the worlds best dancers and teaches workshops regularly in Amsterdam. Lawyer by day and swing dancer by life. Teodora’s analytical skills show that every move can be broken down easily and explained with a smile, because in the end it is all about enjoying the dance!

OUR TEACHERs

TEODORA KASABOVA

Restless to keep on learning, Teodora is 24/7 busy with swing dance and the ways swing dance changes people’s lives. She firmly believes that anyone can dance and makes sure to let her students feel that during her classes. Whether that will be with analyzing the technic behind the Funky Chicken (yes, she likes to get cheeky and geeky) or with practical tips so that you can keep on practicing alone at home, you will feel that you are supported in your dance journey and that she is ready to dance with you solo or partnered!During his teaching, he is always ready to provide personal attention, as he knows that we all have to start somewhere.

Jasper Van iperen

Trying not to compromise on his bounce, Jasper is hopping from party to party until he basically can’t stand on his feet anymore. Never stopping to challenge himself, you will find him doing experimental footwork, complicated moves and improvisations. However, he always leaves room for his partners to try the same!  During his teaching, he is always ready to provide personal attention, as he knows that we all have to start somewhere.

IRIS HAGEMANS

This is Iris and she is a Lindyholic! When she first saw a couple of amazing dancers (Richard and Yvonne) swinging out to a jazzy song, she simply had to know more! She decided to take Lindy Hop classes and it was love at the first 8-count figure. More than 10 years later, she is still captivated by the stylish playfulness of Lindy Hop, especially on juicy mid-tempo songs when you can make every step swing.  As a teacher she thinks there is something magical about people taking their very first Lindy steps on the dancefloor, she always feels privileged to be part of that moment. They might be the first steps to the healthiest addiction you will never want to get rid of!

Semih

SEMIH YILDIRIM

Ever since he started dancing to ‘music that swings’, Semih got completely hooked on rhythmically moving his body. Just as the Swing Era dances were therapeutic for the generation that had been through the Great Depression and WWII, Semih enjoys teaching jazz dancing as a counter-statement for the hectic modern way of living. Aspiring to embody flow, agility, effortlessness, and musicality in his solo and partnered dance, he continues to hone his technique and discover his body.

LOES PRONK

A couple of years ago Loes realized that she and Assil needed more sports in their life, not to get too rusty dusty. As a musician she was not much into sports and failed therefore in many. But then she found lindy hop combining the two! After just one lesson she could not stop dancing anymore, and also learned shag, balboa and a touch of blues. Sooo much fun!! Loes gets inspired by the music, she likes to surprise the lead and sees the dance as a conversation in which you can inspire each other. In her lessons she likes to give personal attention, to give you that one tip of advise that will make everything suddenly work out for you!

Sassi kia

Assil Al-Ibrahim

Assil has discovered the world of Swing dancing when he realized that his life was concentrating too much on work and less on fun things. This realisation has drastically changed his life and nowadays he can be found on virtually every Lindy hop party, both in the Netherlands and abroad. No holiday is complete without visiting the local Lindy hop scene or a festival!  In his dancing, Assil loves to explore musicality and rhythm variations within Lindy hop and solo jazz as well as give all his energy within Charleston and Shag dances.
