Basement Blues Opening Season w/ Jamica & Mike

WE are ready to get back in blues mode with you all! Kicking it off with workshops from Jamica & Mike! They will do a progression from Ballrooming Blues to Lindy Hop. There will be a blues party and swing dance party in one weekend! The best of both worlds.

Comfortable with the swingout and lindy circle
Have done Ballroomin’ or other Blues. For Swing Philosophy students, the slow dance classes in level 1.5 and above qualify for this.

We love dancing in the musical crossover area between Jazz Blues and Swing, and we invite you to explore it with us.
We’ll work on skills like-
Slow and fast moments, like accelerating into a slowdown to get that “ooooooo” effect
Follow initiated moves
Lengthening your movements to fill up the time
Making cool and dramatic shapes
Contrasting small and big movements
Connection that feels amazing and creates new possibilities
Making counterbalance easy and relaxed

Is your Lindy Hop juicy? What does that even mean?? Once you get a taste of how good Lindy Hop can feel when it’s juicy, you may never want to dance any other way again.
