GET HAPPY, GET LINDY HOPPING

Swing Dance is more than just a dance, it’s a way to connect to your body, your mind, history and humanity. It embraces human connection in its purest form, it combines musical therapy with body awareness and it gives an endorphins brain boost like no other activity. However, the biggest win is, that us it is just plain dam fun!

As one of the founders of Lindy Hop, Frankie Manning, has once said: “I’ve never seen a Lindy Hopper who wasn’t smiling. It’s a happy dance. It makes you feel good.”

The dance has a big history! It originates from the age of slavery and the Afro-American culture. It is a dance that is rooted with pain, but always aims to celebrate life.

WHY SWING DANCE and not another dance? Just a couple of reasons. In swing dance we (1) celebrates individuality as we can dance solo and partnered within the connection, (2) do not define roles by gender, both roles can improvise and have a voice in the connection, (3) do not define a dancer by their level, everyone dances with everyone from the very start and  (4) combine various dance styles and there is full freedom to add your own juice on top of it.
