Katie Cobalt is returning to Amsterdam! Fresh off of winning both of their competitions at the International Lindy Hop Championships in New York, Katie and Mike are full of inspiration and ready to bring their energy to YOU.

We will offer high quality classes, and we use pricing options because we want our classes to be accessible to people in different financial situations.

If you are able to pay at the higher end of the range, you will be helping other dancers have access to the classes. If you are able to pay at the lower end of the range, that’s great too. Either way, we want YOU in our classes.

Deeper Groove is the Key
Do you ever watch a dancer truly rock the basic and wonder how? How can their pass-by look so truly glorious? The secret is they got that tasty, delicious *groove*. Let’s dig into what groove is and how we can find it within ourselves.
Fast and Easy
When a fast song comes on, do you feel stressed, lost, or just take a break? OR do you get a huge smile on your face and think, “This is my jam!” Learn how to keep your calm and keep your groove, even when the tempo goes higher. There are so many amazing songs that are faster, and Katie and Mike will show you how to dance to them without feeling like you are going to collapse.
Connection + Improvisation
Connection and improvisation: one is the foundation for the other. Together they can take you to something beyond understanding, to that zone where you find yourself doing things that you didn’t know you could do. Alone, either connection or improvisation will still lead to good dancing. But one without the other won’t create that magical *thing* that can happen. If you’ve never experienced it, then just wait. Once you do, you’ll want more.
Everything about Turns
Ever find yourself spinning out of control on the dance floor? Do you want to add variations to your rotations? Do you wish you knew how to actually practice turns? We got drills, we got exercises, and we got cool shit.
To be able to handle this material, you should be confident and comfortable with swingouts, lindy circles, and standard 6-count moves like tuck turns and pass-by’s (aka change places). You should also have some solo jazz experience- for example, dancing the shim sham and doing solo warmups at the beginning of classes.
