Big band music, good company and great energy.

JAZZALIKE Big Band plays at our Big Band Night in KZ, inviting everyone to enjoy live swing music in a relaxed, welcoming and beautiful atmosphere.

We are all about the glorious music of the 1930&40, mixed with nowadays life. It’s an experience for young and old, for the listener and for the dancer, for the party animal and for the wallflower. We have the space for all of it in the allure of our 1956 stunning art-deco venue.

About the band:
Based in Utrecht, Jazzalike Bigband has been performing on stage since 2001. The repertoire consists of a good mix of modern jazz and traditional big band, as well as intimate ballads and danceable funk grooves. The band is made up of five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, a tight rhythm section, and an enthusiastic bandleader, often complemented by an amazing singer.

About Sam Ghezzi:
Sam Ghezzi is a multi-instrumentalist and singer.
Born in Trento (IT) in 1995, his career soon started to focus on blues, jazz and everything in between.
With Roaring Cats (swing octet) and The Hi-Stakes (rhythm ‘n’ blues quintet) he is currently touring in festivals and clubs around the globe.
Through a philologically conscious approach, his music guarantees a thought through performance, accompanied by sophisticated sarcasm and dynamic enthusiasm.

LIVE fast-paced SWING in KZ 

Fast tempo swinging live music with COMPASS BALLROOM STOPMERS, a buzzing atmosphere and tasty drinks: you don’t want to miss this night!

The Compass Ballroom Stompers play tight swing from the 1950s. They are known for their alternative melodies based on the chord progression of standards from the Great American Songbook, known as contrafacts. Charlie Parker’s ‘Ornithology’, based on the well-known ‘How High the Moon’, is a good example of this.

Our Lindy Hop Crash Course is a fast, fun way to jump into swing dancing and experience the feeling yourself. In 3,5 hours (with breaks) we will teach you the basics of Lindy Hop and some fun moves which will get you dancing in no time.
